The Fizzbook laptop is an educational, fully functioning laptop pc designed especially for 6 to 14 year olds.
The Zoostorm Fizzbook uses a full version of Microsoft Windows XP. The Fizzbook is durable and robust enough to stand-up to the everyday punishment of being used by children.
Unlike previous laptops aimed at children, this notebook style computer incorporates a full version of Windows and an Intel Atom Processor which is sufficiently powerful to run conventional software applications and will be compatible with standard peripherals such as printers and scanners.
The rugged and ultra-portable Fizz Book is based on the Intel® Classmate™ PC which was launched in the Far East as part of the One Laptop per Child Education Initiative. Zoostorm have adapted the laptop to make it more suitable to the UK market by developing the design towards a fun leisure device as well as an educational tool.
The computer is now available in 3 versions:
Fizzbook Lite - 7” screen, 512Mb memory and a 4Gb Flash Drive
Fizzbook Go - 8.9” screen, 512Mb memory and 4Gb Flash Drive
Fizzbook Bang - 8.9” screen, 1Gb memory and a traditional 30Gb Hard Drive
Fizzbook Spin - 8.9" touch screen, tablet style pc, 1Gb memory and 60Gb Hard Drive
The latest version of this popular educational laptop will be released soon. The Fizzbook Spin is a traditional laptop computer with a screen which can swivel through 180° and can also be used as a modern tablet style computer with touch screen technology.
The Fizzbook Spin will be available to buy late March 2009.
